It amazes
me still how some people think they have a right to convey to everyone around
them of how others should be living their lives ~ particularly in small
communities ~ (just imagine folks with a pompous attitude getting ready to give
you a piece of their mind). Use your
imagination to envision someone who doesn’t even know you, or perhaps not
anymore, or you were only ever acquaintances, or perhaps grew up around them
and knew of each other’s existence but never friends, but THEY STILL THINK they
have some sort of privilege to be a dictator on your life; everything from
where you live, to how you look, to your career choices, and even commenting on
your relationships with your family and friends. Why do they think they can? Worse! Why do
they think they can with a tone of a commanding officer, or even a snotty
voice? I have theories, and here they are:
-I am
thinking they are not completely happy with their own lives so the only way to
make themselves better by constantly commenting or giving directives to others
around them.
-Perhaps
they are envious of something about the person they are giving commands to?
-Maybe
they think that everyone values their opinions no matter what they are conveying,
and or how they express it? Thus they are unable to realize that this is not
likely the case as most people are probably going to be offended and angry by
such insights by such a person?
-Just
too busy making everyone else’s business their own, whatever the reason for
that is?
-Too
much time on their hands?
-Naturally
invasive individuals?
-Don’t
want to have to deal with their own problems or issues so they focus on other
peoples’ lives?
-They
are only happy by being unhappy with the rest of the world?
Who
knows!
Ange.
